What is the course…
Wednesday Morning 10am: Still life object and cast objects painting
- Wednesday Afternoon 1-4pm: Life Drawing/Painting
- Friday Morning 10am-1pm: Quick Sketch
- Saturday Morning 10am-1pm: Portrait painting study with live model once monthly
We continue the skill building from the pencil drawing intensive program. It is required to do the pencil drawing intensive before doing the oil painting program.
The focus is on continual improvement in drawing and observation skill with the addition of oil painting, materials and how to handle them.
In the morning there is a studio segment which includes painting from cast, still life formats and master copies. As in the drawing Intensive some of the work can be completed at home. We teach wash drawing techniques, grisaille, and then basic color theory and oil paint application. We teach a few methodologies including sight size and comparative drawing.
In the Wednesday class there are life drawing/painting long poses in the afternoon. Friday mornings continue with more life model sessions. In the Saturday class there is a morning Studio Session with a once-a-month portrait drawing/ painting session.
Scheduled class content will be available online for students to review and available in case of absence. Enjoy a complimentary sample of our online content!
