About Bucks County Classical Arts Center (BCCAC)
"You can draw and paint better than you knew you could. We can help you."
We teach classical drawing and painting techniques to adults, children and teenagers in Bucks County Pennsylvania. Located in the heart of New Hope in an historical building near the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad, the school is more than just a place where classes take place. For many the center is an artistic home. It fills a need for high standards, excellence, and a complete and consistent drive toward mastery in the craft of drawing and painting.
A variety of classes are offered in old master drawing and painting techniques. Activities such as open life drawing and group painting sessions take place for all artists. Special guests and instructors are an important part of the experience. The quality of instruction from staff and from guest presenters makes the BCCAC a destination place for students and classical art lovers both locally and nationally.
To quote founder John Murdoch:
“One of the most common things that I hear from students is a real need for skills they either weren’t taught or wish to learn for the first time. They don’t believe they have talent or skill and don’t know how to achieve their goals. I believe that making great drawings is not a matter of talent. It’s a matter of desire, good training and loving work. Students make amazing work on a daily basis. They come in and work and exceed their own expectations simply by doing the process. This is the beauty of what we do here. You can draw and paint better than you knew you could. We can help you.”
